about me

rainbowmeMy name is Rachel. First and foremost, I am a child of God, failing and hopeful. I am the spouse/beloved of ‘Ratchet’ who is mostly referred to here as “Sweetie.” I have an amazing family–by choice and by blood–and two extremely attractive cats.

I love God and food, in that order. I have worked in either churches or restaurants all of my adult life, and find that the link between the two worlds is much smaller than you’d think.

I live in Minneapolis, MN, one of the greatest places on earth (no, I am not kidding).

  1. It was nice meeting you at the Wild Goose. Among other things, I twisted balloon art for the kiddies. 🙂 I hope to keep reading your blog. Peace

  2. Your voice in your writings is fantastic…… distant friend, I keep you in my heart. I love that you write and write and write ….. it’s absolutely amazing. Really!

  3. Hi Rachel, I am currently dealing with the fact that I am bisexual and have admitted it to a total of 5 people, and am finding it such a struggle! I’m so glad I’ve found your blog, please check mine out if you have the time. http://www.sexualityandfaith.wordpress.com. I think this issue is so much more common than people realise, but still so taboo and not talked about! My site is still annonymous at the moment, but who knows, maybe I’ll come out more widely one day? Thanks for being here, it makes me feel less alone!

  4. You can’t be a bisexual Christian. That’s an oxymoron. Sex is a false god.
You could be a bisexual atheist, though.

  5. Dear Matthew:

I am not sure why you felt compelled to write your comment, but I assure you, I love Jesus, follow in His way, and am a bisexual woman who is married to a lesbian identified woman. The blog shares some of my personal thoughts and stories.

If you care to join the conversation in a generative open to listening way, I suggest you start from a different place. If you want to just randomly spew your narrow view of God and Jesus and faith on the internet, I suggest you do so somewhere else.

Peace to you and all those you love.

  6. Rachel,

Peace, love and happiness to you and yours,
